Hi and welcome to my website.
My name is Dr Elaine Cossins and I am the only UK-registered dietitian living in the Ariege region of the Pyrenees.
I qualified as a dietitian in 2001 and as a result have a gained a huge wealth of experience having worked extensively with adults and children. I also have an interest in sports nutrition having successfully completed a postgraduate qualification at Coventry University.
I care passionately about getting your nutrition "right" by only providing advice and information that is factually correct and evidence-based. The old adage "you are what you eat" pretty much holds true and by arming you with the right facts and information, will enable you to make the best choices.
I offer on-line consultations which allows flexibility and convenience in terms of time, travel and location. I can also provide face to face consultations if you live in the Toulouse/Ariege area.
So whatever your age from 0 to 90 I believe I can make a difference, whether it's issues around what your child is eating, dealing with specific medical conditions such as coeliac disease, IBS or an athlete who wants to improve their performance. I hope by exploring my website you will gain a fuller understanding of what I can offer and that I may be able to help you.
Any consultation whether it is remote or face to face will provide in-depth dietary assessment and analysis, followed by bespoke advice tailored either for you or your family.
Follow-up consultations can be provided if they are deemed necessary.

Why choose a dietitian?
Registered dietitians (RDs) are governed by law and are the only qualified health professionals that assess dietary and nutritional needs. Anybody can call themselves a 'nutritionist' or 'nutritional therapist' as these are not protected professional titles.
Dietitians are the only qualified health professionals that assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems at an individual and wider public health level. They work with both healthy and sick people.
Uniquely dietitians use the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease which they translate into practical guidance to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.
